Who We Are

For more than 30 years, Literacy Volunteers of Morris County has been providing FREE instruction to adults in Morris County in reading, writing, basic math and English as a Second Language.   Our volunteer tutors help their students improve their ability to communicate so that they are able to find and retain employment, and improve their ability to provide for their family, manage their health care, finances and consumer needs, and become active and engaged members of our community.

What We Do

LVMC provides free instruction to adults in Morris County who need help improving their ability to read, write and speak English.  Instruction is provided by trained volunteer tutor/mentors.   Tutors must be over 18, high school graduates, and fluent in English.    They must also successfully complete our training orientation.   For more information about referring a student or becoming a tutor, please visit our website at www.lvmorris.org
