The Family Promise program unities 40 congregations in Sussex County to help homeless families. The congregations provide overnight shelter and meals for three to five families (up to 14 people) for one week at a time on a rotating schedule. During the weekdays families come to our day center where staff members help them develop and carry our their goals so they can move into permanent housing. We serve husband and wife with or without children, single parent with children, legal guardian or custodial relative with children, pregnant women, and single childless women on a limited basis if other alternatives are not available.
What We Do
Family Promise of Sussex County serves homeless families by uniting local congregations and community resources to provide shelter and meals working with families to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency and advocating for local affordable housing solutions.
