Calling all United Way NNJ Local Operating Board and Women’s Leadership Council members for a day of volunteering to rebuild homes after Hurricane Sandy.
Please consider joining us on July 12th to assist in rebuilding homes across Union Beach, NJ. A United Way liaison will lead the group in one or more of the following tasks: demolition, debris removal, installing sheet rock, installing insulation, painting, and/or plastering. Volunteers are asked to wear work boots or other thick soled shoes (no tennis shoes) and clothes that they do not mind getting dirty or ruined from working. All tools will be on-site.
Lunch will be served and at the end of the day and for those that would like to join us (on their own) for light refreshments at Jakeabob's Bay Inc. and share their experiences of the day.
Day of Itinerary:
7:30 am – Drive/Car pool to Union Beach Headquarters
9:30am : Arrive at Headquarters (650 Poole Ave Union Beach, 07735)
9:45am - 10:00am : Orientation & Group Assignments
10:00am - 10:15am : Travel to home work site
10:15am - 12:30pm : Work on home work site
12:30pm - 01:30pm : Eat Lunch – LUNCH WILL BE SERVED
1:30pm - 03:30pm : Continue work on home work site
3:15pm - 03:30pm : Wrap-up & clean at home work site
3:30pm - 03:45pm : Travel to Union Beach for End-of-Day Reflection & Thank You (Front Street & Union Ave, Union Beach)
3:45pm - 04:00pm : Debrief & Thank You
