Join Somerset Home for Temporarily Displaced Children for the 16th Annual Run for Runaways event at Colonial Park. The 5K Run and family event raises awareness about the dangers runaway and homeless youth face. In addition to the 5K run, events include a fitness walk, kids’ sprints and activities, entertainment, food, silent auction, and lots of fun.
Because of issues such as abuse and neglect, each day more than 1,200 youth run away from home and find themselves homeless. Since 1973, Somerset Home for Temporarily Displaced Children has provided abused, neglected and homeless youth ages 13-21 with housing, a stable environment, and supportive services. Proceeds from Run for Runaways will benefit Somerset Home’s Arts and Recreation program.
