Join Employment Horizons at our Annual Recognition Dinner on October 17th at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park. This year’s dinner celebrates our years of service to the greater Morris County community, providing vocational training and services to individuals with disabilities. The annual fundraiser recognizes the achievements of program participants and members of the local community who support the agency’s mission. The services of Employment Horizons help to empower people with disabilities to become independent, productive members of society. Dinner honorees include Pet Goods receiving the Employer of the Year award; Verizon will be given the Corporate Commitment Award; Eamon Loughran will receive the Make a Difference Award; Chris Stier will receive the President’s Award; and Alek Rodriguez will be awarded the William Huber Achievement recognition. James Gowen, Vice President – Supply Chain Operations and Chief Sustainability Officer at Verizon, will serve as this year’s Honorary Chair for the major fundraising event.
Employment Horizons is an innovative nonprofit agency. Founded in 1957 with just eight participants, the organization now assists more than 400 adults with disabilities with finding and maintaining employment each year. The organization has various vocational programs including janitorial training, culinary training within Café Horizons (a fully functioning cafeteria), and a soon to open Home Health Aide certification program. Utilizing its core business programs to provide work opportunities in the greater Morris County area, Employment Horizons continues to make progress in removing stigmas that create barriers in achieving their dreams.
This year’s major event sponsors are the Walsh Family Fund of the Community Foundation of New Jersey and Verizon as Honoree Benefactors and Dan Collins & Christine Conti-Collins, Commodore Construction Corp. and Bayer Corporation as Presentation Benefactors. Local businesses can show their support by purchasing an ad in the ad journal, attending the dinner, or donating items for the dinner’s ticket or silent auctions.
