VHS Hospice of NJ (a member of the Hackensack Meridian Health network) offers comforting, compassionate care to those who have a life-limiting condition. Hospice Volunteers typically provide 1-2 hours of service a few times a month and based on your schedule. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Direct Patient Volunteers visit patients for companionship, emotional support and caregiver relief. You can help someone if you can talk, play music, read or simply hold someone’s hand! Of special need are those with specialized skills/experience such as Pet Therapists, Reiki Practitioners, Eucharistic Ministers, Hairdressers, Musicians, Veterans and those who speak another language.
- Administrative Volunteers assist with clerical duties.
