Volunteer: Mock Interviewer for Employment Readiness StudentsThe goal of the Middle Earth Visions is to prepare youth to enter the workforce and begin a fulfilling career. Along with career readiness training, we also provide our students with an industry recognized credential, as well as a short-term internship in a field that interests them. A crucial part of this process is the mock interview, in which the participant takes part in an interview with a professional in order to practice their interview skills and receive feedback. We are looking for volunteers to serve as mock interviewers, and are accepting professionals from a variety of different careers so that each of our program participants may be able to interview with a career professional that can relate to their interests. YCR students learn about managing time, managing money, and the importance of their high school grades along with learning about college applications and college life. Due to the fact that we stress the importance of academic achievement, as well as the importance of standardized tests such as the SAT, we aim to provide some level of tutoring for our students, and our looking for individuals willing to volunteer in this role. Tutoring in a broad range of topics, including SAT and PSAT tutoring, is essential to the success of the YCR program.
