By joining our family of volunteers, you'll enjoy opportunities to share your talents and skills, make new friends, and spend time doing meaningful work to support The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms. A variety of jobs, with flexible hours to accommodate busy schedules, are available, including:

Shopkeeper

Handle transactions, assist customers, help maintain inventory, and other miscellaneous shop duties No experience necessary; training will be provided

Museum Docent

Give tours of The Stickley Museum to the general public and visiting groups Free multi-session training program required

Administrative and Special Events

No training required; no minimum time committment Help with mailings and other administrative tasks, or with large events like our Fall and Spring Family Days

The Stickley Seminar is a free, 6-session training course that prepares potential docents to give tours of The Stickley Museum to the general public and visiting groups. Docents play a vital role in the daily operations of the Stickley Museum, guiding tours and serving as the face of the museum for visitors from around the world. It’s rewarding work that is great for anyone with a curious mind who enjoys meeting new people.

While potential docents are required to a complete all 6-sessions (additional dates to be determined), the first two-hour session of the Stickley Seminar, set for Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m., is recommended for anyone interested in volunteering at the Stickley Museum in any capacity.  Training is provided. Docents interested in working with children are especially needed.

 Requirement:  STICKLEY SEMINAR: DOCENT TRAINING COURSE

 

Tuesdays starting July 15, 2014, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Education Room  

(5 Sessions; remaining dates to be determined at the first session.)

This free docent training seminar, to be held on Wednesday evenings this summer, will help prepare potential docents to give tours of the Log House. Anyone interested in taking the Seminar should contact the museum for more information at 973-540-0311 or email education@stickleymuseum.org. 

 

The course is also appropriate as a brush-up for existing docents, and is good preparation for shop and administrative volunteers as well.
