CASA Of Morris And Sussex Counties

Who We Are

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Morris and Sussex Counties Inc. (CASA) is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to speak up for the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. CASA's mission is achieved through the recruitment, training and supervision of community volunteer advocates who commit to become powerful voices for these vulnerable children within the court system. CASA advocates serve as the eyes and ears of the Family Court judges and provide an independent voice for the child in court proceedings. A CASA advocate is assigned to a specific child within the foster care system and represents the best interests of that child to the Family Court and other child welfare system agencies. The child advocacy CASA provides is court-authorized. Thus CASA advocates are in a unique position to influence Family Court decisions based on case fact finding.
