P2 creates a pathway out of poverty for the entire family. Through education, mentoring, networking and social media, participants create sustainable change by developing the financial, career, social and emotional resources needed to achieve self-reliance and resiliency. P2 meets weekly, year-round, providing dinner, transportation and stipends. Phase I begins with career and life planning curriculum where participants evaluate how poverty impacts their life and the community, assess available resources and develops action plans to achieve prosperity. Phase II begins with participants working with volunteers who assist them in putting their plan into action. Phase III begins as participants become mentors and committee members, supporting the sustained growth of P2. The children’s curriculum provides experiential learning, STEM workshops and career corner. P2 provides a walk in office offering individualized sessions, financial planning, matched savings accounts, networking, psychoeducational counseling, referrals, a computer lab, access to educational grants and emergency assistance.
