Therapeutic Recreation-Somerset County Park Commission

Most programs take place in the evening throughout Somerset County. Volunteers must be at least 17 years of age, and participate in a volunteer orientation prior to the start of programs.

The Somerset County Park Commission Therapeutic Recreation (TR) department provides year round recreation and leisure opportunities that encourage an active and healthy lifestyle for children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities. Whether it is adaptive horseback riding, fitness, cooking or crafts, there is always something fun going on in the Therapeutic Recreation department, offering many rewarding volunteer opportunities year round.
