For ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families living paycheck to paycheck, the holiday season puts even more stress on already stretched budgets. Nearly 790,000 New Jersey children — 41% — live in financially insecure households. In addition to facing difficult choices, such as paying the heating bill or putting food on the table, parents are forced to weigh the financial consequences of participating in the season’s festivities.

With the community’s help, United Way of Northern New Jersey Gifts of the Season distributes more than 5,000 gifts to ALICE households across northern New Jersey. Your tax-deductible gift will help fulfill someone’s wish – a doll, a soccer ball or a warm winter jacket.
