Give back and make a difference.
The 2025 MLK Days of Service are almost here – and Americans across the country are rolling up their sleeves in service. Are you ready to serve the community this year?
Making time to volunteer for the 2025 MLK Days of Service is a great way to engage with your community while honoring the legacy of Dr. King. Whether you are a student, a family, an individual or a corporate team - YOU can take action this MLK Day and instead of day "off" this day can be one of service to the community.
United Way is offering a number of safe ways for people to participate in this year's event, including remote and virtual opportunities. Some of our project this year include:
* creating personal care Stuffed Socks or kits for families and individuals experiencing homelessness in support of Project Homeless Connect;
* reading a children's book for United Way's Virtual Book Buddies project;
* collecting or organizing a new sock drive, for distribution during Project Homeless Connect and through local shelters;
* kicking off your ALICE READS book collection project, to prepare for the weeklong activities in early March;
* New - disseminate information on United Way's VITA Free Tax Assistance Program (this can be done by individuals or group); or
* becoming a VITA Tax Assistance volunteer (NO experience necessary, only a willingness to learn and be part of an impactful team - Training is FREE).
Whatever way you choose to help, know that what you do makes a world of difference! For more ideas on how you can serve on MLK Day, click HERE.
This year, we hope you'll work to improve our community and promote diversity, inclusion, and equity.
You can order a Live United t-shirt to commemorate your service for just $20! Order your shirt here.
Honor Dr. King’s legacy all year. Pledge to serve in his honor throughout the year.
Thank you for your service and commitment to making a difference on this special day!
